(The ambassador) officially requested my favor to issue my noble decree so that, as per the imperial letter of agreement (ʿahdnāme-i ḥumāyūn), after [the merchant] fulfills at a given location his customs duty for the commodities he purchased and receives in his hand the certificate of payment, he shall not be oppressed and injured with recurrent customs duty claims.A merchant from among the aforementioned Roman emperor’s subjects, named Isaac Moshi(?), along with his two servants, reported that he came from Transylvania to trade and he currently wishes to go back to that direction intending to trade. 'butcher’s damage'), and other taxes, except for a safety fee of 300 akçes, (collection of) which is as allowed to a variety of custodians. My illustrious edict has been issued that after the customs duty is paid for once as per the conditions of my imperial letter of agreement, he shall not be injured or oppressed with recurrent claims [of customs duty].
