Project partners have granted the Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies of the Austrian Academy of Sciences permission to publish facsimile data within the QhoD project. Employees of this publically funded institution took images of archival sources or collected digitized items, and created descriptive metadata. The contents of the archival sources are not subject to copyright restrictions under Austrian law (Urheberrechtsgesetz), as the creators both of their ideal contents and their documentary material objects passed away more than 70 years ago (§§60-61 UrhG), and these materials are considered documents for official use (§7 UrhG). Decree to the agha of the imperial court janissaries and the chief gardener agha: The translator of General [Damian Hugo] Count of Virmont—may God end his days propitiously—who is currently at my gate that is the center of state, as grand ambassador from the Roman emperor, the paragon of the great commanders of the community of Messiah; this translator named and the people of [the grand ambassador] purchased with [his own] money for their own consumption two thousand müdres of wine—each müdre being equal to ten vuḳiyye—from the shores, piers, and islands close to Istanbul. About the value of müdre, see the footnote in the first order issued about the same topic. My illustrious edict has been issued that as the wine is being transported to his residence, from now on, no money shall be demanded by superintendents and officers under the name of customs duty, tribute, favors, outlay, or under other pretexts.
