Are you always in good health and content? We hope you remain well and in good spirits. Should you inquire about us, by the grace of God Almighty, we are in good health and safety.

Our noble agha, Turnacıbaşı Mehmed Ağa×, and I are currently in the fortress of Belgrade×. It has been quite some time, yet neither a letter nor any news has reached Turnacıbaşı Ağa× or this friend of yours. When we ask those who arrive here, they all say that you are well. We sincerely hope this is the case.

My true and long-standing friend, my companion, and the honorable grand ambassador×: Considering the bond of friendship that has developed over this long period, both in Istanbul× and during our travels, we kindly request that you send us, through our Petrovaradin× interpreter, a complete and accurate map of provinces (a world map?). It would bring us immeasurable joy to possess this as a souvenir from you.

While such a map has been available in Istanbul× for quite some time, it is neither good nor accurate. We would be most delighted if you could graciously send a complete map of provinces, comprised of four pages in its entirety. Please do not ignore this matter. Eternal peace be upon you.
