The grand ambassador reports on his past activities, as he has visited the Şeyhülislam and the Kaymakam of Constantinople. So far no more visits were made to respect the difference in rank.;
Oettingen-Wallerstein strongly wanted to visit the reis ül-küttab Râmî Mehmed Paşa to negotiate matters he remains stuck with with Alexandros Mavrokordatos but feels the latter intentionally prevents him from a visit. Since he sees no other way to commence the issues at hand he intends to disregard protocol and rank and make a discret visit.;
In the same sense Oettingen-Wallerstein complains at length about Mavrokordatos, stating all Greek dragomans cannot be trusted. Following that logic he praises and recommends his own interpreter Lakowitz.;
Regarding the flood of prisoners and slaves, the grand ambassador reports that the tense situation has relaxed with strict and violent responses by the Ottomans, though some Christians still escape to the embassy in secret and he now has about 230 of them, while not knowing how to support them with his finances.;
Especially for the galley slaves, mainly made up of prisoners of war from Habsburg lands, scheduled to leave Constantinople in late April Oettingen-Wallerstein requests immediate sizeable funds and further instructions to help them.;
Oettingen-Wallerstein also requests orders on how to deal with the envoy of Ragusa, since he is unsure of the rank of the republic and how to deal with their current dispute with Venice, on which he attached a report to this letter.;
The grand ambassador reports that Russia and the Ottoman Empire are close to completing a ceasefire agreement and will convey details in the future. He already knows that Crimea will get access to a river crossing over the Dnipro and hopes that the Russian ambassador is allowed to visit other diplomats with the completion of the treaty.;
On a last note Oettingen-Wallerstein reports on the Polish-Lithuanian ambassador being about to enter the city in a few days and that the sultan has recovered from a long lasting illness.
