Abstract
Oettingen-Wallerstein reports that the embassy exchange in Stari Slankamen was relatively rushed and gave no opportunity to discuss the protocol for the entry parades into Vienna and Constantinople with Elçi Ibrahim Pasha. Count Starhemberg and the grand ambassador expected this and compensated by having the count and the governor of Belgrade Ali Pasha discuss the issue before the exchange as well as sending officials to negotiate, the report of which was added to this letter. Oettingen-Wallerstein promises to arrange for more opportunities to get the Ottomans to accept the protocol of 1665.; Oettingen-Wallerstein also reported about the honours and audiences he had with the governor of Belgrade since the exchange and wonders about matters of equal rank and veneration shown.; The Ottoman officials finally agreed to a prisoner exchange and the grand ambassador will send a detailed report by general Nehm in the future.; Regarding diplomatic gifts, Oettingen-Wallerstein once again requests more clocks to be sent, according to him they are extremely sought after by the Ottomans. He also laments the lack of proper preparation in this matter in Vienna and worries his gifts might not suffice.; Oettingen-Wallerstein explains what supplies and food the Ottomans provide and states he tries to keep costs low by adhering to a similar quality and level of supplies as Walter Leslie.
