Abstract
Oettingen-Wallerstein confirms the reception of several instructions from Vienna, and states that he awaits further orders regarding the border demarcation commission and will not act unless further reports from Vienna or responses from the Ottomans arrive.;
The grand ambassador consulted with count Starhemberg and general Nehm about the embassy exchange and remarks that it is difficult to arrange for a proper time since the time of arrival at the border of the Ottoman grand embassy is unknown. They had to take detours because of disease outbreaks along the route and may have to stay outside of Belgrade.;
Count Starhemberg and general Nehm met with the governor of Belgrade while this letter was written to clarify time and protocol for the exchange. An Ottoman official was sent from Belgrade and Oettingen-Wallerstein requests that he be prevented from crossing the border.;
Oettingen-Wallerstein complains at length about the delays, partially caused by bad shipping conditions aswell as disease outbreaks on the Ottoman side, which will force the grand embassy to travel in wintertime. He also complains about the unusually high costs he has to deal with to maintain the embassy, supplies and decresing manpower through sailors taking their leave because of bad pay.
