Abstract
Kurtz delivered the emperor’s letter to the pasha of Buda to request his release, but it was ineffective. The pasha demanded an end to military raids and the dispatch of the commissaries, which Kurtz interprets as mere excuses. Nevertheless, Kurtz urges the emperor to act quickly, send 5,000 to 6,000 thalers, and inform him of the commissaries’ expected arrival in Komárom. He sends this letter to colonel Reiffenberg, expecting an urgent reply via the same route.
