Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Arno Strohmeyer

Arno Strohmeyer ist Leiter des Projektes und stv. Direktor des Instituts für die Erforschung der Habsburgermonarchie und des Balkanraumes der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften (IHB). Zugleich ist er Professor für Allgemeine Geschichte der Neuzeit am Fachbereich Geschichte der Universität Salzburg. Zu seinen Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen die Beschäftigung mit Herrschaftssystemen und Widerstand, Friedenssicherung, Interkulturalität, Religion und Politik sowie Diplomatiegeschichte und Quelleneditionen in der Frühen Neuzeit.

Arno Strohmeyer is head of the project and deputy director of the Institute for Habsburg and Balkan Studies (IHB). He is Professor of Modern History at the Department of History at the University of Salzburg. His research interests include the study of systems of government and political participation, peacekeeping, interculturality, religion and politics, as well as diplomatic history and historical source editions in the early modern period.

Mag. Dr. Stephan Kurz

Stephan Kurz, Post-doc am IHB, verantwortet bei QhoD die Datenmodellierung und deren Umsetzung in den TEI-Schemata sowie die Darstellung der digitalen Objekte innerhalb des technischen Rahmens des Grazer Asset Management Systems (GAMS) sowohl in technologischer (TEI, XSLT) als auch in darstellungsbezogener Hinsicht (HTML/CSS). Neben Editionswissenschaft und Typographiegeschichte befasst sich Kurz u.a. auch mit prosopographischen und bibliographischen Fragestellungen.

Stephan Kurz, postdoc researcher at the IHB, is responsible for data modelling and presentation of the digital objects within QhoD’s Grazer Asset Management Systems GAMS framework both in terms of technology (TEI, XSLT) and visual representation (HTML/CSS). His research interests include textual scholarship, history of typography, but also extend into digital aspects of prosopography and bibliography.

Mag. Dr. Manuela Mayer, MA

Manuela Mayer ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und verfügt über mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Edition frühneuzeitlicher Quellen, mit einem Schwerpunkt auf dem 18. Jahrhundert. Innerhalb des Projekts ist sie mitverantwortlich für den Editionsteil zu habsburgischen Gesandtschaften ins Osmanische Reich.

Manuela Mayer is research associate and well experienced in the field of editing early modern sources with special focus on the 18th century. Within the project she is responsible for the edition of sources on Habsburg legations to the Ottoman Empire.

Dr. Yasir Yılmaz

Yasir Yılmaz ist wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter mit einem Forschungsschwerpunkt auf der frühmodernen und modernen Geschichte der habsburgisch-osmanischen Diplomatie. Innerhalb des Projektes ist Yılmaz verantwortlich für den Editionsteil osmanischer Gesandtschaften nach Wien. Neben dem Forschungsprojekt arbeitet Yılmaz an seiner Habilitationsschrift über die Zweite Türkenbelagerung Wiens. Seit 2017 hält er regelmäßig Lehrveranstaltungen über die Habsburger Monarchie, das Osmanische Reich, das Russische Reich sowie zur Geschichte des Nahen Ostens und der Beziehungen der islamischen Welt zum Westen ab.

Yasir Yılmaz is a research associate with expertise in the history of early modern and modern history of Habsburg-Ottoman diplomacy (1500-1918). Within the project he is responsible for the edition of Ottoman and Habsburg sources concerning Ottoman legations to Vienna. In addition to the research project, Yilmaz is currently working on his habilitation thesis “The Road to 1683: A New History of the Second Ottoman Siege of Vienna.” Besides, he has been regularly teaching since 2017 courses concerning the histories of Ottoman, Habsburg, and Russian empires, history of the Middle East and the relations between the Islamic world and the West.

Claudia Römer ist pensionierte ao. Professorin für Turkologie am Institut für Orientalistik der Universität Wien. Ihre wichtigsten Forschungsschwerpunkte sind osmanische Diplomatik, osmanische Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte, osmanische historische Grammatik, Syntax und Stilistik. Im Rahmen des Projekts ist sie für das Korrekturlesen der Transkriptionen und Übersetzungen osmanischer Texte zuständig.

Claudia Römer is a retired Associate Professor of Turkish Studies at the Department of Near Eastern Studies of the University of Vienna. Her main fields of research are Ottoman Diplomatics, Ottoman Social and Economic History, Ottoman historical grammar, syntax, and stylistics. Within the project, she engages in proofreading the transcriptions and translations of the Ottoman texts.

Jakob Sonnberger, BA

Jakob Sonnberger arbeitet am Zentrum für Informationsmodellierung (ZIM) der Universität Graz. Innerhalb des Projektes ist er verantwortlich für die Implementierung von QhoD in die technische Infrastruktur (GAMS) des Zentrums.

Jakob Sonnberger is working at the Centre for Information Modelling at the University of Graz. Within the project he is responsible for the implementation of QhoD into the technical infrastructure (GAMS) developed at the center.

Lisa Brunner, MA (bis Oktober 2021)

Lisa Brunner ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und im Projekt verantwortlich für den Editionsteil zu habsburgischen Gesandtschaften ins Osmanische Reich, überdies betreut sie den Social Media Kanal von QhoD auf Twitter. Innerhalb des Forschungsprojektes entsteht auch ihre Dissertation zum Thema der Intermedialität habsburgisch-osmanischer Diplomatie. Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich der frühneuzeitlichen Kunst- und Kulturgeschichte, der Diplomatiegeschichte sowie im Kultur- und Social Media Management und der Wissenschaftskommunikation.

Lisa Brunner is a research associate and, in the course of the project, responsible for the edition of sources on Habsburg legations to the Ottoman Empire; she also manages the QhoD social media channel on Twitter. Within the research project she is working on a dissertation on the intermediality of Habsburg-Ottoman diplomacy. Her research interests lie in the field of early modern art and cultural history, diplomatic history, as well as cultural and social media management and scientific communication.
